SDI has been installing Automatic Unit Sortation systems for over 20 years. Our hardware
and software solutions have been developed in conjunction with our clients
requirements. Our standard software application has a multitude of standard
features that allow it to be applied to Retail, Wholesale and Direct to Consumer
environments.
In this application, SDI delivered an automatic unit
sortation solution to a leading sportswear manufacturer. The solution was engineered
to fit within an existing Distribution Center. Installation was completed
in under 6 weeks.
The solution achieved an eleven month ROI, closely
tracked by the client. Product is inducted manually by an operator onto an empty
tray. After that, the system automatically reads the bar code on the item and
then determines what order that item belongs to. The item is tracked to the appropriate
destination and dropped directly from the tray into a container which
holds all of the contents for that order.
When the order is complete,
the container is released from the sorter by the operator using an RF gun.
The container is routed to a manual pack out area.The system has 240 destinations
and can process 9000 garments per hour. The standard software allows overlapping
waves to enable optimum chute or destination utilization. |
