Handling and distributing retail apparel typically calls for specialized equipment,
especially in the case of hanging garments. While the warehousing - distribution
center involved may not be especially large, it must be designed carefully
to provide for the integration of several different handling systems. The garment
sorter sorts finished garments, such as shirts and dresses, according to lot
and size numbers recorded on tags and labels attached to garments. Garment sortation utilizes a flexible system configuration allowing for easier installation in almost any distribution center with reliable garment conveyance on normal hangers. The garment sorter can track garment location with automatic data collection and analysis. Garment sortation is compatible with bar codes and/or RFID chips. SDI's conveyor systems are the best and most reliable in the industry. SDI's garment sortation system is the standard in high speed unit distribution of hanging garments. Its design can be configured for installation in either multi-level or single level operations with equal effectiveness. Induction to the sorter is achieved either manually or automatically by adding a mechanical device which synchronises a screw conveyor or quick picker with the hooks and automatically delivers the hangers to the hooks as they pass through the induction area. The induction process can also be integrated with an automatic trolley-stripper. The hang sorter has a variable speed controller, allowing the operators to optimise the travel speed of the garments as well as the induction rate. Induction rates are determined by two factors: rope speed and hook centre distance. The SDI Standard Speed Hangsorter running at maximum speed with hooks at 325mm centres has an induction rate of 6000 hooks per hour with either manual or automatic induction. The High Speed Hangsorter has hooks on 250mm centres and is capable of induction rates of 10000 hooks per hour but for this speed requires an automatic induction device. We have developed the most comprehensive and innovative hang sorter system in the world. We continue to refine our systems, incorporating more ergonomic designs, high-tech materials and components, and labour saving applications. Whether you are allocating single garments or pre-packed packs of GOH merchandise, our sorters deliver the merchandise to the store lane accurately and ready to be shipped. |
