The SDI Media Sorter was designed specifically for DVD's, videos and games. This
unique machine will sort at up to 18,000 products per hour. It's the fastest DVD,
CD sorting machine in the world.
SDI developed the machine internally,
the machine utilizes our high speed "ON EDGE" sorting technology. The
machine is totally automated, products are taken from a belt and automatically
descrambled, inducted, scanned and sorted without a single human touch.
Each
product is scanned and rotated through 90 degrees and automatically
inducted onto the sorting machine. The sorting machine uses pneumatics to divert
products off the machine and directly into a collection chute. Each collection
chute can be a single order or a collection of orders.
When all of
the products for an order have been diverted into the correct chute, a light
associated with the chute is turned on to alert the operator. The operator than
packs the product from the chute into the appropriate sized carton. The contents
of each packed carton
is recorded by the system and
is typically
uploaded to a host system.
