System provided by SDI utilized numerous existing assets to ensure a cost effective
solution. Conveyor reused were all refurbished by SDI installation crews Inbound
cartons are placed on a race track and the contents of the inbound case are
checked by an operator. After inspection the contents of the inbound carton and
verification the contents are pplaced into a " pickable Container " this container
is designed to match the flow racks used by the Distribution center and
affords easy access to the contents of the container.

is now delivered to a flow rack for stocking of the forward pick locations.
All put-away and inventory management is handled by SDI's Fastrack WMS solution.
Tis completes the Put Away process. New orders received by the client are
passed to SDI. Empty totes are delivered to multiple picking zones. A replenishment
order can be initiated in any zone, by scanning the tote an order is systemically
connected to the tote and picking can begin.
The picking
operation is driven by RF guns, each operator is fed instruction to their
RF gun based on the tote that they are handling.
After the complete a pick
they are directed to the next operation. After a tote is complete is a particular
zone the operator is instructed to push the tote onto a takeaway conveyor. |
