SORTRAK is a product of an extensive Research and Development effort by SDI, developed
to create a more economical solution that could compete with traditional
tilt tray sorters.
SORTRAK makes 14,400 trays available per hour past
a single point and enables elevation changes, all the while maintaining the
ability to make both left and right hand turns. Such unique layout configurations
are made
possible by the patent-pending chainless design. The drive mechanisms
are mounted at multiple points throughout the system, which allows long
and complex configurations. Sortable items for SORTRAK include, but are not limited
to, apparel, garments, books, parcels, packages and DVD/CDs.
SORTRAK
can automatically sort individual packages and bar-coded products and also
has the ability to sort non bar-coded items. Because of the elimination of a
chain drive, the SORTRAK allows for a wide variety of machine configurations and
because of its multi-level applications allows incredible space utilization.
