As a single source of design, SDI employs both proprietary and market proven material
handling technologies to formulate the best solution for a particular customer
objective. Multiple customer’s requirements such as sortation rates, space
available, investment budget etc. are taken in consideration in SDI’s designs
and solutions.
One example of this, is SDI’s flexible twisting
belt conveyor used on the product induction of our high speed Video game and DVD
media sortation system.
The video game and DVD media items lay flat on
its face prior to being inducted to the sortation machine. A unique flexible belted
conveyor was designed, engineered and manufactured specifically to turn product
from an horizontal flat position to a vertical position where the product
stands on its edge while moving at 300 ft./ min. prior to be diverted.
This
particular conveyance method allows products to divert faster compared
to other traditional diverting methods.
SDI’s media sorter is capable of
sorting items at speeds up to 300 ft./min. with product on 10” centers minimum. |
