BOMBAY SORTER INFO

    This space saving and versatile
    sortation system is specifically
    designed for fast and efficient
    sorting of small to medium, light-
    weight items ranging from jewelry
    to garments and miscellaneous
    packaged goods.  Items can be
    sorted to cartons, totes, sacks or
    any other carrying medium.  The
    sorters can be manufactured with
    double or single trays.

    Inducted items can be manually
    scanned or automatically inducted
    into either one or two carrier
    segments or across both so that
    they can be transported for
    release at an assigned drop-station
    which normally represents a store
    or delivery point.  The split
    trays/carriers (4 segments per set
    of trays) convey items in a
    horizontal orientation and release
    them, bomb-bay style, into cartons,
    totes or sacks placed below
    them.

    By design the split tray mechanism
    is simple and provides long lasting
    performance and minimized
    operating costs with few moving
    parts which are easy to maintain.
    The sorter frame is manufactured
    from modular box section materials
    which ensures construction is quick
    and simple.  This sorter requires
    minimal footprint and can be set up
    and installed where space is at
    a premium.
